Dr. Jawad was born in Jaffa in 1945. He attended medical school in Cairo, Egypt and graduated with Honors in 1969. He completed his surgical training in Chicago, Illinois at Cook County Hospital from 1972-1979, then he practiced in Jackson, Alabama at Jackson Hospital from 1979-1981.

Performing Bariatric and General Surgery, Dr. Jawad has been practicing in Ocala since 1981. Board certified through the American Board of Surgery and a member in good standing with many organizations including; Fellow of American College of Surgeons, American Society of Bariatric Surgeons, and the Society of Laparoscopic Surgeons.

An expert in the laparoscopic field, Dr. Jawad has performed thousands of cases since this technique has been offered. He specializes in the Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass, Laparoscopic Gastric Banding as well as the Laparoscopic Gastric Sleeve. He has presented both nationally and internationally over 40 papers on laparoscopic surgery.

Dr. Jawad has been performing Bariatric Surgery in Central Florida since 1984, and Laparoscopic Bariatric Surgery since 1999, having completed over 3000 Bariatric Surgical Cases safely, and with great success. Dr. Jawad has performed Laparoscopic Roux-En-Y Gastric Bypass on patients with BMI ranges 35-94, with the Heaviest patient done Laparoscopicly being 706 pounds.
